She has performed at the US Naval Submarine Base, and at numerous American Legion fundraisers for the Legacy fund and other veteran-related causes. At the American Legion Mid-winter Conference in 2007, Heidi was named the first official Supporter of the American Legion Riders CT State Chapter. She has been proudly riding with the American Legion Riders Connecticut State Chapter since 2006. Some of her favorite ALR events have included the Vietnam Moving Wall escort, Wreaths Across America escort, and Freedom Salute Ceremony. “I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve as the National Spokesperson for the Missing In America Project. My personal mission, along with that of the M.I.A.P., is to ensure that no man or woman brave enough to serve is forgotten. Our military heroes are our nation’s most precious resource, and we must cherish and show them our gratitude- not just on Memorial Day, but every day. They must be assured that we will never forget the sacrifices they have made and continue to make for us. We owe it to our fallen soldiers to ensure their lives are properly memorialized- with honor, with dignity, and with love.”
